Like I get that scene was to make Hermione look kickass, but she didn’t need Ron to make some misogynistic comment to make that point.
Book Ron would have been all, “bloody hell Hermione, my entire family is watching, can you not embarrass me completely?”
And she’d be all, “honest Ronald, it’s hardly embarrassing. We are supposed to be learning here, how can you learn if I don’t fight to my full ability.”
Ron obviously loses but isn’t a dick. Cos book Ron is a prat, but he has never denied that Hermione is far more skilled than him.
I think even though it had happened to him quite a few times, being locked in the cupboard so many times really fueled this, too. In conclusion: I realized this and then proceeded to cry
